How to file a grievance about Baba, or report suspected fraud, waste, or abuse.

Contact Baba compliance

Send grievances and compliance concerns, including suspected fraud, waste, or abuse, to Baba by email or phone. You do not have to give your name.

Grievances

A grievance is any complaint that does not involve a coverage decision by your health plan. It can be about our services or our team, for example:

  • The quality of the service or support you received from Baba.
  • Unprofessional or offensive behavior by a Baba team member.
  • Not being able to reach us.
  • Not getting the information you need.

You, or someone acting for you, can file a grievance with Baba by email or phone using the contacts above. If you have a Medicare Advantage or Medicaid plan, you can also file a grievance with your plan using the phone number on your member ID card. Medicare Advantage plans generally accept grievances up to 60 days after the event.

We respond as quickly as your situation requires, and no later than 30 days after we receive your grievance. We may answer a grievance made by phone either by phone or in writing. If you would like a written response, tell us.

You can also contact Medicare at 1‑800‑MEDICARE (1‑800‑633‑4227), 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. TTY users can call 1‑877‑486‑2048.

Fraud, waste, and abuse

Medicare and Medicaid are public programs, and every dollar lost to fraud, waste, or abuse is a dollar not spent on care.

Fraud
Knowingly deceiving a program to get money or benefits that are not owed, such as billing for services that were never provided.
Waste
Using program resources carelessly or needlessly, such as ordering services that are not needed. Waste is usually a misuse of resources rather than a deliberate act.
Abuse
Practices that lead to payment for services that are not medically necessary or not properly billed, without clear intent to deceive.

Reporting a concern

If you suspect fraud, waste, or abuse, or have any other compliance concern about Baba, tell us by email or phone using the contacts at the top of this page. You do not have to give your name, and Baba does not retaliate against anyone who reports a concern in good faith.

Suspected fraud in a federal health program can also be reported to the HHS Office of Inspector General at 1‑800‑HHS‑TIPS (1‑800‑447‑8477).
